Casa Sardegna
It is the mature artist’s painterly confrontation with his own roots.
The original, simple farming and fishing life and the religious traditions, which have survived longer on the island than on the Italian mainland, cast a spell over him. The pictures are rather melancholic: a dark color palette with many shades of grey and brown is characteristic.
Traditionally dressed women with large, veil-like headscarves and some men are depicted in an archaic, almost ancient-looking setting.
